Hackney City Farm

Hackney City Farm is a community farm in east London, created by local residents who kept a few animals in nearby gardens from 1982 and took over the present site, a derelict lorry park, in 1984. Inspired by the city farm movement, it gives Londoners, and especially children, direct contact with farm animals, growing and food, and has become a lasting community resource in a dense urban neighbourhood.
