Coopamat

The Coopamat cooperative, founded in 2017, consists of 48 sugar cane and panela producers from San Sebastián de Mariquita, Colombia. It operates a honey plant built with support from local and national governments. The cooperative processes cane honey into various panela products, providing employment opportunities, especially for women. Despite challenges like financial constraints and market competition, Coopamat aims to enhance its presence in national and international markets while ensuring sustainable practices and community support.
